Michael S. Kraft, Attorney at Law
With over twenty-five years experience, Attorney Michael S. Kraft provides business, corporate and real estate services to a variety of commercial clients and individuals advising them on existing strategies, new initiatives and the legal challenges that they face. As the scope and breadth of privacy and security regulations increase, many of Attorney Kraft’s clients rely on his oversight to draft, implement and monitor their compliance efforts. He has focused considerable attention on the Massachusetts Data Security Regulations that become effective on March 1, 2010 and affect nearly every company with employees or customers in Massachusetts. His clients also rely on his knowledge of the Gramm Leach Bliley Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Attorney Kraft is frequently involved drafting and negotiating all manner of contracts and agreements with his clients’ customers and vendors. An unfortunate reality for many businesses is addressing legal claims. Mr. Kraft works closely with clients in selecting and coordinating the efforts of trial counsel, assisting with the investigation process and reviewing and editing briefs and other litigation documents.
Michael received his undergraduate degree in 1981 from the University of Pennsylvania and his law degree in 1984 from Boston University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts (state and federal courts) and in Connecticut.
When he is not working for his clients, he enjoys time with his wife and two sons skiing, hiking with his two dogs or tending to his koi pond. Michael has been a columnist for Just Property magazine and was recently interviewed about commercial leasing issues by Carmen Nobel of Jim Cramer’s TheStreet.com.
